Wyrmshadow: The Duskreign Prophecy
Thoron is the last remaining direct descendant of Bahamut (or so it is commonly thought), the regent of the Baham and ruler of all Metallic Dragons. He can think of no enemy greater or more deserving of death than the demons of Infernia, who a thousand years ago murdered his loving wife, Reignyth. Thoron’s hatred of demons often causes him to lose sight of lesser, yet more immediate concerns, which allowed for a seditious group of Chromatic Dissidents to raise an army of dragons to start a civil war against his rule.
He was able to quash the rebellion, but not before a group of demonic insurgents, led by the fiendishly deformed Black Dragon, Nightstrafe, used the chaos of the Draconic Civil War as a distraction to steal their way into Draconia, the mystical realm of Dragonkind, and sow as much chaos and destruction as possible. Thoron used the attack as an example to his people that their true enemies lay in Infernia, waiting for them to let their guard down, just for a moment, so they could sweep up and devour all of Wyrmshadow.
Despite his nobility and emphasis on the pursuit of justice, he ignores a great many injustices in Materia due to his reluctance to descend to the mortal realm and help defend it from lesser threats. He is an isolationist, and he hides away in Draconia waiting for a threat from Infernia while letting other, no-less-substantial threats come and go with little to no effort on his part to see justice done. A common phrase he has been heard to speak is ‘I see no demons, no dragons, and no business of mine.’
