Sir Jaregan Dwinley

Sir Jaregan Dwinley

A knight in service to the Imperian Armored Forces, but only barely. He serves as the headmaster of the Imperian Academy of Arms and runs the proving grounds at the Emerald Arena in Ouldengaard. He has never seen true battle in war, but he has taken great pains to hide this fact beneath a veil of bravado and a web of carefully spun lies. Sir Dwinley was badly embarrassed when one of his own squires, a young Nathan Gellar, challenged him to a duel in front of a large gathering of knights. Unable to deny the challenge, Dwinley soundly lost the duel and his heirloom sword, Crucible, which had never sung in his hands quite so well as it would in Nathan’s.

As Sir Dwinley began to conjure a plot to avenge his honor and reclaim the always tenuous respect of his peers in the IAF, Rivenn Cates, the Hafhie assistant of Graham Cray, came to tell him that they had unraveled his secrets and could expose him for a fraud. His claims of former glories and great conquests, not truly believed by most, yet unable to be disproved, were going to be exposed unless he relented in his brewing rivalry with Nathan Gellar and let the boy grow into the man Dwinley would never be.
